The data consisting of 1,756,142 Korean respondents (38,546 respondents in Kangwon-do) allowed to overcome previous studies\u2019 limitations and investigate regional differences of happiness in Korean and in Kangwon-do. The results showed that Kanwon-do was ranked 6<\/span><sup style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">th<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">out of 17 cities and provinces in Korea. Further analyses yielded the results supporting gender differences in the levels of happiness; specifically, male residents in Kanwon-do experienced significantly higher levels of happiness than did female residents. And, the significant age differences in the levels of happiness were observed. Younger residents \u2013 teens, 20s, and 30s in Kanwon-do reported lower levels of happiness than those of their counterparts live in other regions. By contrast, older residents in Kanwon-do reported higher levels of happiness than those of the old in other regions. Among 18 regions in Kangwon-do, Yanggu-gun was the happiest ranked region in Kangown-do, but Jungsun-gun was the unhappiest ranked region.
